What the client needed

A cricket academy needs several pitch types under one roof: a lively centre wicket that plays true for matches, turf practice strips that behave like the real thing, and hard cement pitches that trainees can use all day without maintenance downtime. The ground itself also needed levelling, drainage and a durable outfield.

What Rakon Sports delivered

• Soil study of the ground on multiple parameters before pitch design
• Turf pitches dug to 15–18 inches and rebuilt in layers — anti-termite treatment, fine sand, black/red clay, cricket turf grassing and a refined clay top layer
• Cement practice pitches on brick-blast, RCC and cemented layers for zero-maintenance daily training
• Ground levelling and dressing, fertiliser mixing, anti-termite control, watering and rolling
• Special carpet grassing across the outfield

Outcome

The academy trains on purpose-built surfaces for every stage — from beginners on cement pitches to match simulation on the centre wicket.
